The Warriors beat the Hawks in double overtime thanks to 54 points from Klay Thompson.

Klay worked hard and Kevon Looney scored the game-winner in a game that seemed impossible to end.

A wild 143-141 double-overtime game was the first game of 2023 for the Golden State Warriors against the Atlanta Hawks. In one of the franchise’s wildest regular-season games, the Dubs won despite missing six rotation players, including Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins. The team is now 20-18 on the season.

Anthony Lamb and Patrick Baldwin Jr. provided some excellent minutes off the bench for the Warriors while Poole was the second most important offensive player early in the game.

On Wednesday, January 4th, the Warriors will have one day off before hosting the Detroit Pistons. There will be an opening tip-off at 7:00 PM Pacific at the Chase Center.
