Warriors B team beat Cavs 120-114 despite missing four starters after an exhausting road trip.
There’s something weird about basketball. I had the Golden State Warriors losing this one for a good reason. All the pieces were in place. The Warriors were playing the Cleveland Cavaliers on enemy territory, an excellent team (even without Donovan Mitchell).
A back-to-back was the Warriors’ second game. The Warriors had not beaten a winning team on the road throughout the season.
Additionally, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins were resting.
A 10-for-23 shooting performance by Poole led to 32 points, and a 9-for-13 effort by Jerome led to 22 points and 8 assists. In only 16 minutes of action, DiVincenzo finished with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and a game-high +12 plus/minus, while Looney had 17 rebounds and Green had 13 points and 8 rebounds.
After a winning road trip, the Warriors are heading home and Thursday’s heartbreaking loss has faded from memory.
