With the win, the Warriors improved to 39-36, half a game behind the Clippers and Suns for the fifth and fourth seeds, respectively.
As a center for the 76ers, Joel Embiid was a force all night. He bullied his way in against the Warriors’ undersized frontcourt all night. He finished with 46 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, scoring 19 free throws.
Despite the Sixers’ dominance at the free-throw line, the Warriors kept pace from behind the arc. The Warriors scored 30 more points than the Sixers from three. And that’s despite Steph Curry’s pedestrian 2-for-7 three-point shooting.
Jordan Poole scored a team-high 33 points. With just under 1:20 left in regulation, he scored 19 points in the fourth quarter, including a game-clinching corner three that gave the Warriors a five-point lead. Klay Thompson finished 6-for-13 from three with 21 points. Curry scored 29 points and eight rebounds, shooting 8-for-11 from two-point range even though he struggled from behind the arc.
