Golden State Warriors defeat Cleveland Cavaliers thanks to Stephen Curry’s clutch shots

On Friday night, Curry hit a tying 3-pointer with 1:18 to play, then a go-ahead layup off a perfect, long pass by Kevon Looney, before scoring 40 points to rally the Golden State Warriors past the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-101.

Mitchell finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists for Cleveland, but he went down hard grabbing at his right ankle in the final seconds. With 12.4 seconds left, he hit a pair of free throws.

Curry extended his NBA record to 200 consecutive regular-season games with at least one 3-pointer.

For the Warriors, Klay Thompson shot 3 of 13 for nine points. With 2:53 left, he made a 3-pointer to make it 96-95.

The Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green had 13 assists, 10 rebounds, and two points. Coach Steve Kerr also received a technical shortly before halftime.

The Golden State Warriors are still trying to find the right combinations to get in sync consistently, with Jordan Poole scoring 18 points off the bench.
