A road win had eluded the Golden State Warriors for much of the 2022-23 season, and they are now one win away from the Western Conference Semifinals.
Following Wednesday night’s 123-116 victory over the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center, the Warriors hold home-court advantage heading into Friday’s Game 6. It is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on Friday
A critical 7-2 run to close the third quarter helped Golden State outscore the Kings by 12 in the middle quarters. Draymond Green provided 21 points and seven assists off the bench while Stephen Curry scored 31 points. Klay Thompson scored 25 points. In 39 minutes, Andrew Wiggins scored 20 points.
With a broken fingertip, De’Aaron Fox struggled to shoot 9-for-25 from the field, leading Sacramento with 24 points. Kevon Looney racked up a game-high 22 rebounds in the paint, while Domantas Sabonis scored 21 points and committed five turnovers.
Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors are a game away from meeting in the postseason for the first time since 1991. With a 3-2 series lead, the Lakers head back to Southern California after losing 116-99 to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Friday night will also feature Game 6 of the Warriors-Kings series. It will begin at 7:30 p.m., or immediately following the conclusion of Warriors-Kings Game 6.
